California Road Charge
Branding for Caltrans’ California Road Charge Program. Still in research and development, the Road Charge program seeks to replace the gas tax in preparation for the future of electric cars.
The concept for the logo comes from the cloverleaf interchange as seen above. Creating an infinite loop the mark represents both the renewable energy used to power the future of electric cars and the continued maintenance of our roads and highways that road charge would make possible. The symmetry of the mark represents the equality that a road charge would bring to all drivers on the road.
